There are a handful of universal truths left in modern life. Gravity works. Coffee tastes better when someone else makes it. And no man alive — not one — has any idea who he’s actually talking to anymore.
This was the gist of a question a friend asked me yesterday, half serious, half exhausted, fully confused:
“How the hell is a guy supposed to know if he’s talking to a woman or a man anymore?”
Not politically. Not philosophically. Just… physically. In the wild. In the apps. In the grocery aisle. At the gym. At Thanksgiving. On the street. Anywhere. Ever.
And my answer — the one that shot out before my brain had time to dress it up — was simple:
